How we started
Zamir Shaikh resident of Shirgaon, Palghar came up with the idea of establishing Falah e Darain Urdu High School in 2010 in Awadh Nagar, Boisar to provide primary and secondary education to underprivileged students.
Zamir Shaikh was working as a Principal in Zackhariya school, Satara and had the desire to give back to society by providing quality education to the underprivileged children.
Falah e Darain was started in 3 shops which were merged together to accommodate 55 students
In 2014 the school was moved to 1st floor of the metal factory of 2000 sqft area with rent of ₹ 10,000/- per month which was later hiked to Rs 20,000/- per month.
Considering the background of students ₹ 200/- fees per month was finalized
School authorities had appointed 6 teachers on ₹ 4,500/- salary with help of Tanzeem who provided salary for 1 primary teacher.
Mid day meal was provided to school by Iskon
The school initially didn’t have recognition and students took admission in accredited schools from 9th standard onwards.
How we currently operate
Falah e darain school underwent expansion of 1000 sqft in year 2015 by crowd funding thereby having total 3000 sqft area accomodating 225 students
The school got recognition from Urdu Education Board in the year 2014
Standard 9th and 10th were inducted for the school in the year 2015
The school got recognition from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) n the year 2017
Standard 11th and 12th were inducted for the school in the year 2018
Falah e darain school qualified as examination centre for SSC and HSc in the year 2014-15
Falah e darain school qualified for Maharashtra board exams in the year 2019-20
100% passing of SSC & HSC students since 2015
Falah e darain hours of operation is 7 AM till 5 PM
Students fees and other administrative expenses of school are crowd funded as students are unable to pay fees on time
₹ 20,000/- rent is given to the factory owner on monthly basis
Salaries of teachers also get delayed owing to multiple reasons
What we plan to do in future
School was not eligible for government aids and schemes as it didn’t had its own building
3,000 sqft land was indentified for constructing school building in the year 2017
Crowdfunding was initiated to achieve and members of TAPS & BARC also pitched in to raise Rs 16,20,000/- for land purchase in multiple phases.
Complete land for school construction was successfully purchased in year 2018
The school authorities plan to build Ground + 2 floor building to accommodate all students
The total cost of school construction is ₹ 55,00,000/- (Fifty five Lakh Rupees Only)
Benefits for students and teachers
World-class infrastructure and amenities will be provided to students including good benches, fans, white board, laboratory and others.
Hifz classes will be included for the students
